Well, bru, 8BitDo has bottled up that glorious nostalgia and turned it into one seriously lekker mechanical keyboard! 😎

Meet the 8BitDo Retro Mechanical Keyboard – Fami Edition, a stunning tribute to classic 8-bit gaming hardware, combining legendary retro styling with modern mechanical keyboard technology.

Featuring 87 mechanical keys, Kailh Box White V2 switches, hot-swappable construction, Bluetooth connectivity, 2.4GHz wireless, USB-C wired operation, and two massive programmable Super Buttons, this keyboard is ready to transform your workspace into a miniature retro gaming paradise.

And with its distinctive cream, red, and dark accent colours inspired by classic Japanese gaming hardware?

This isn't just a keyboard. It's a little piece of gaming history sitting on your desk! 🕹️

Fami Edition. Straight Out of the 8-Bit Golden Age! 👾

Some gaming designs never lose their charm.

The Fami Edition takes inspiration from the legendary Japanese Famicom era, featuring a beautiful combination of cream, rich red, and dark accents.

It's a wonderfully nostalgic design that immediately stands out from ordinary mechanical keyboards.

Whether you're a retro game collector, mechanical keyboard enthusiast, or someone who simply enjoys unusual desktop accessories, the Fami Edition brings plenty of personality.

But underneath those classic looks?

A proper modern mechanical keyboard packed with impressive features.

Old-school style. New-school performance. That's the 8BitDo way!

87-Key Tenkeyless Layout. Compact but Capable! ⌨️

Who says you need a massive keyboard to get serious work done?

The Fami Edition features an 87-key tenkeyless layout, giving you essential keyboard functionality without the extra bulk of a dedicated numeric keypad.

You still get:

• Full alphanumeric keys
• Dedicated function keys
• Arrow keys
• Navigation controls
• Convenient productivity shortcuts

But with more room on your desk for your mouse, gaming accessories, and that emergency cup of coffee.

Whether you're working, gaming, coding, or browsing the internet, the compact layout offers an excellent balance between functionality and space.

Less clutter. More mouse room. Maximum retro happiness!

Kailh Box White V2 Switches. Clicky Goodness, Sorted! 🔥

Love the satisfying sound of a proper mechanical keyboard?

Then you're in for a treat!

The Fami Edition features Kailh Box White V2 mechanical switches, delivering crisp tactile feedback and a distinctive audible click.

Every keypress has that wonderful mechanical character enthusiasts love.

Whether you're typing a lengthy document, writing code, or enjoying your favourite games, the switches provide noticeable feedback beneath your fingertips.

And because they're genuine clicky switches, you get that unmistakable mechanical keyboard soundtrack.

Click. Click. Click. That's the sound of proper typing happiness, bru! 😂

These switches produce audible clicking sounds and may not be ideal for noise-sensitive shared spaces.

Hot-Swappable PCB. Change Your Switches, Change Your World! 🛠️

Fancy trying a different mechanical switch?

No problem!

The Fami Edition features a hot-swappable PCB, allowing you to replace compatible mechanical switches without soldering.

It supports suitable 3-pin and 5-pin MX-style switches, giving you plenty of options for customisation.

Prefer smooth linear switches?

Go for it!

Want tactile feedback without the audible click?

That's possible too!

It's a fantastic feature for mechanical keyboard enthusiasts who enjoy experimenting with different typing experiences.

Your keyboard. Your switches. Your perfect feel!

Dual Super Buttons. Two Giant Red Buttons of Pure Joy! 🔴

Now this is where things get really interesting!

Included with the Fami Edition are 8BitDo's famous Dual Super Buttons.

These oversized programmable buttons connect to the keyboard using their dedicated accessory cable.

They can be assigned supported key commands, shortcuts, and macros.

Imagine a massive button for launching a commonly used command.

Or a custom shortcut that makes repetitive tasks easier.

Or just the sheer satisfaction of pressing a giant arcade-style button because, well, you can!

Bru, everything is better with giant red buttons! 😎

Fast Mapping. No Complicated Setup Required! ⚡

One of the cleverest features of the Dual Super Buttons is their convenient programming system.

You can assign supported keyboard functions directly using 8BitDo's fast-mapping feature.

That means you don't need to install software just to configure a basic key assignment.

For more advanced customisation, 8BitDo Ultimate Software V2 provides additional options.

Whether you're gaming, coding, or working through everyday tasks, the Super Buttons offer a fun way to personalise your setup.

Big buttons. Clever shortcuts. Maximum productivity happiness!

8BitDo Ultimate Software V2. Your Keyboard, Your Rules! 🎛️

Love taking control of your gaming gear?

8BitDo has you covered!

The Retro Mechanical Keyboard supports 8BitDo Ultimate Software V2, allowing you to customise supported keyboard functions.

Depending on your configuration, you can:

• Remap supported keys
• Configure programmable buttons
• Create custom macros
• Assign convenient shortcuts
• Personalise your keyboard controls

It's a fantastic addition for gamers, programmers, designers, and productivity enthusiasts.

Your commands. Your shortcuts. Your perfect setup!

Three Ways to Connect. Wireless Freedom Sorted! 📡

Why settle for one connection option when you can have three?

The Fami Edition supports:

2.4GHz Wireless

Connect using the included USB wireless receiver for convenient wireless operation.

Bluetooth Low Energy

Enjoy cable-free connectivity with compatible Windows and Android devices.

Wired USB-C

Prefer a direct connection? Simply plug in the included USB cable.

Whether you're working at your desk or enjoying a more flexible setup, the keyboard offers plenty of connectivity options.

And here's a thoughtful little extra: the wireless receiver can be stored in the keyboard's magnetic adapter compartment.

Three ways to connect. One seriously lekker keyboard!

Independent Control Panel. Retro Controls Done Right! 🎚️

The Fami Edition features a dedicated control panel designed to make common keyboard functions easy to access.

Instead of relying entirely on complicated keyboard shortcuts, you can use the physical controls to select your connection mode and adjust supported settings.

It also features a handy volume knob, allowing convenient volume adjustment.

The result is a keyboard that feels both nostalgic and practical.

Simple controls.

Classic styling.

Modern functionality.

Who knew turning up the volume could feel this satisfying?

Dye-Sublimation PBT Keycaps. Built for Serious Typing! 💎

A premium mechanical keyboard deserves premium keycaps.

The Fami Edition comes equipped with dye-sublimation PBT keycaps, designed to provide a durable typing surface.

PBT is popular among keyboard enthusiasts because it resists developing the shiny appearance that can occur with some ABS keycaps after extended use.

The keycaps also feature an MDA-like sculpted profile, adding to the keyboard's retro aesthetic.

It's a lovely combination of classic design and practical construction.

Beautiful looks. Fantastic feel. Proper quality!

Aluminium Plate & Top-Mount Design. A Solid Typing Experience! 💪

Underneath that nostalgic exterior is a carefully engineered keyboard.

The Fami Edition features an aluminium plate and top-mount construction, providing a sturdy foundation for its mechanical switches.

At approximately 1.05kg, the keyboard has a substantial feel on your desk.

Whether you're working through a busy day or gaming late into the evening, it feels like a proper piece of mechanical keyboard hardware.

Retro on the outside. Serious engineering on the inside!

2000mAh Battery. Up to 200 Hours of Wireless Fun! 🔋

Nobody wants their keyboard battery dying halfway through a gaming session.

That's just rude!

Thankfully, the Fami Edition includes a generous 2000mAh rechargeable lithium-ion battery.

According to 8BitDo's specifications:

• Up to 200 Hours Battery Life
• Approximately 4 Hours Charging Time
• Convenient USB-C Charging

That's plenty of potential typing and gaming time between charges.

When the battery runs low, simply connect the USB cable and recharge.

Your coffee supply might need topping up before your keyboard battery does! 😂

N-Key Rollover. Every Keypress Counts! 🎮

Fast fingers?

No problem!

The Fami Edition supports N-key rollover, allowing multiple simultaneous keypresses to register accurately.

It's especially useful for gaming, fast typing, and complex keyboard shortcuts.

Whether you're navigating your favourite games or smashing through a work deadline, the keyboard is designed to keep up.

Bring your fastest typing fingers. This keyboard is ready!

Four Expansion Ports. Make Your Retro Setup Even Cooler! 🔌

Already loving those Dual Super Buttons?

Good news!

The Retro Mechanical Keyboard features four dedicated expansion ports for compatible 8BitDo keyboard accessories.

You can connect up to four sets of supported Super Buttons, with one set included.

8BitDo also offers additional compatible accessories, such as the Super Stick and Super ABXY.

These let you experiment with more programmable controls and create an even more distinctive desktop setup.

Your keyboard could become its own miniature arcade control station. How lekker is that?

Additional keyboard extensions are sold separately. The expansion ports are for supported 8BitDo accessories, not headphones.

Windows & Android Compatibility. Ready for Action! 💻

The Fami Edition officially supports:

• Windows 10 version 1903 and later
• Android 9.0 and later

Whether you're using a Windows desktop, laptop, or compatible Android device, the keyboard offers convenient mechanical typing.

For compatible systems, you can choose between Bluetooth, 2.4GHz wireless, or wired USB connectivity.
